    You've just joined the group!(g)
Unless the particular item you wish to quote is in the message to which you are replying, your only option is to find that item, highlight it and do a Control-C (which puts it into the clipboard), then do a Control-V at the place where you want it to show up. Then, it would be useful to surround it with quotation marks so any reader can tell it's a quote.

Now, when the message to whic you're replying already has multiple quotes...well, that's more work again

I was able to insert the quote once or twice before using only the mouse.

Sure, but...notice when you click on the "quote" button and the reply window opens that you see, first,
a left-bracket with "quote author=, and the words link. topic, message number, and date; all closed off by a right-bracket. Next comes the text you're quoting, followed by a left-bracket, forward-slash, quote, and a right bracket. Any answer you want to type should come after all that. that way, all the quoted material appears in the orange box, and your comments appear below.

    Hi Larry,

What Dennis said... it's what I do, too. Alternatively, you can just click the "quote" button, which will then quote the entire previous message in your reply - and edit it down as necessary by deleting the portions you don't need.

    Dennis, I'm testing your message

I see, but it looks as if you didn't type your reply after the very last "quote". Also, there must be an "unquote" for every "quote" that appears at the very top.

Looks like I have to keep on practice, practice, practice until I iron out my bugs.
I kept on testing some "quote" insertions but they never seem to come out the way you guys are able to,
but I kept on using the "delete" button so as to keep them from being seen by others .
