2007 Infiniti FX35/45

Infiniti's comfortable and stylish AWD luxury-sport crossover vehicle continues for 2007 with only a few changes, including high-luster 18-inch wheels on the FX35, power-folding sideview mirrors on the FX45 and an available iPod plug-in and new seat belt reminder system. The rated horsepower of the 3.5 liter V-6 in the FX35 has been down-rated slightly to 275 horsepower from 280 previously -- while the FX45's 4.5 liter V- 8 picks up five horsepower, for 320 vs. 315 in '06. Both version get a standard five-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with manual shift mode and Infiniti's Downshift Rev Matching system. The FX45 comes standard with AWD -- while the FX35 can be had with or without AWD.
All 2007 FX models come standard with an 11-speaker, 300-watt Bose audio system, RearView Monitor with 7-inch LCD display, leather trim and power tilt/telescope steering wheel. The FX45 further adds 20-inch rims (replacing the standard 18-inch rims on the FX35), chrome window moldings and polished aluminum roof rails, power folding sideview mirrors, plus wood and aluminum cabin trim, Four-wheel-disc brakes with ABS, traction control and a side/curtain air bag system are standard safety features. A Lane Departure Warning (LDW) system, Intelligent Key and Intelligent Cruise Control with Preview Braking are available for '07 as well.

2007 Infiniti G35 sedan/coupe

Infiniti's mid-size G35 sedan receives a major update for 2007. The 3.5 liter V-6 engine now belts out 306 horsepower, 11 more than the top gun option last year (and 26 horsepower more than the standard G35 engine in 2006). Buyers can choose either a six-speed manual transmission or five-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode and F1-style paddle shifters on the steering wheel. The '07 G35 is available with rear-wheel-drive or optional AWD. Standard features include Intelligent Key with push button ignition, Fine Vision gauges with white and violet illumination, textured aluminum-alloy trim with "Washi" finish (a traditional Japanese handmade paper patterning) and seven-inch color LCD information screen. Optional equipment includes Infiniti's latest generation touch-screen navigation system with XM NavTraffic real-time traffic information, touch screen and 9.5 gigabyte Music Hard Drive, an Adaptive Front lighting System, African Rosewood trim, Intelligent Cruise Control with Preview Braking and a Studio on Wheels upgrade audio system with 10-inch woofers and a head unit incorporating double oversampling 24-bit Burr Brown Digital Audio Converters. Front seat side impact air bags, curtain air bags, traction control, stability control and four-wheel-disc brakes with ABS are standard. The '07 G35 sedan is available in five models: base, G35 Journey, G35x AWD, G35 Sport and G35 Sport 6MT -- the latter being the most aggressive of the pack.

2007 Infiniti G35 coupe

The coupe version of the G35 enters '07 as a carryover, but should be updated later in 2007 or early 2008. For 2007, Intelligent Key with Push Start Ignition has been made standard; active rear steering,bi-xenon headlights and Bluetooth hands-free communication technology remain available options. The standard engine in the coupe is the same as last year -- a 3.5 liter V-6 with either 275 horsepower (automatic versions) or 293 horsepower in models equipped with the six-speed manual transmission.

2007 Infiniti M45

The muscular M45 enters the new model year with a revised Technology Package, revised Journey Package and revised Advanced Technology Package; other than these changes in options and trim, it is a carryover for 2007. Buyers can still choose either a 3.5 liter V-6 producing 275 horsepower or a 325 horsepower V-8. V-6 models can be ordered with standard rear-drive, optional all-wheel-drive or (on Sport models) rear-drive with Active Rear Steering. V-8 versions can be ordered with either rear drive or rear-drive with Active Rear Steering. The Active Rear Steer system uses electric motors to adjust the geometry of the rear suspension according to steering input and vehicle speed. A five-speed automatic with manual/sport shifting is standard with either engine and all driveline choices. Standard features include leather seats, rosewood or aluminum trim, an electric sunroof, Intelligent Key with push button ignition, Infiniti Voice Recognition and Bluetooth wireless technology, an in-dash 6-disc changer with MP3 playback capability, plus a Vehicle Information System with 7-inch LCD screen. M35 and M45 Sport versions get 19-inch rims and more aggressive suspension tuning. All models come standard with stability and traction control, ABS and roof-mounted side-impact curtain air bags. Brake-triggered front pre-crash seat belts -- which tighten under emergency braking in anticipation of an evasive maneuver or crash -- are available optionally. A Lane Departure Warning system, heated and cooled front seats, heated power reclining rear seats and a Bose Studio Surround Sound system with digital 5.1-channel decoding and 14-speakers -- including two personal speakers mounted in the shoulders of each front seat -- comprise the big ticket options for 2007.

2007 Infiniti Q45

At the time of this writing, information on changes to Infiniti's flagship luxury sedan were not available. The current model was updated last year, however, with a new Sport version featuring Rear Active Steer, a specially tuned sport suspension and standard 19-inch wheels shod with performance tires. The Q45's 4.5-liter V-8 engine produces 340 horsepower and is coupled to a five-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift capability. An active suspension system continuously adjust ride quality and firmness, depending on conditions. Standard safety and chassis-control systems include front-side and side-curtain airbags, four-wheel-disc anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, traction control and Vehicle Dynamic Control. The Q45's laser-guided cruise control comes with a preview-braking function that pre-pressurizes the brake lines in anticipation of a panic stop if the system detects that a car ahead is slowing suddenly or the motorist's foot is abruptly removed from the accelerator pedal. A rear-view video monitor is included to help make parallel parking easier and safer.

2007 Infiniti QX56

Based on the Nissan Armada, this full-size luxury SUV gets an additional five horsepower (for 320, total) and a new color -- Pacific Sapphire. It is otherwise unchanged for 2007. Both rear- and four-wheel-drive versions are available. The QX56 includes standard fold-flat second row captain's chairs, 60/40 third row seating, power-operated flip-out rear quarter windows, 10-speaker stereo with either Sirius or XM satellite radio and MP3 capability, rear AC, power folding outside mirrors with integrated turn signal indicators, Bluetooth hands-free phone, roof rack and running boards, 18x8-inch rims, Sojourner leather-appointed seating surfaces, Tuscano thick-pile carpeting, Dark Macore or Blonde Apaya real wood trim and aluminum accents. Four-wheel-drive models also get standard underbody skid plates for the oil pan, transfer case and fuel tank. Max rated towing capacity is 9,000-lbs. All Qs come standard with front seat side-impact and full-row curtain airbags, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and Brake Assist, sonar-based Rear Proximity Sensor, Vehicle Dynamic Control and a tire pressure monitoring system. Laser-guided cruise control, rearview video backup monitor and a DVD entertainment system are among its available options
