And most important of all:
* To be aware of its existence, all you'd have to do is believe; those who can't see it (let alone find the door to get in) clearly lack faith.

Please share that "knowledge" with us uneducated realists, will ya?
Bitter? Surely - as religion is a great danger and the wellspring of so much misery . It motivates good people to do insane things (such as fly airplanes into buildings or shoot doctors whoprovide abortions) and inculcates an anti-reason, "faith-based" mindset that's ripe to be led (often, into drinking the Kool Aid - literally, sometimes).
I'd love to hear about your "knowledge" but imagine it is, indeed, "beyond belief."
Religion can, indeed, be a great force for evil, but it can also be a great force for change. My personal judgment of any religion is whether it changes the way you behave toward your fellow man, as well as your behavior in general. By the way, the answer to the question, "What kind of car would Jesus drive?"
A used Honda with a fartcan exhaust, a stolen Acura engine, primered ground effects, and blue lights on the non-working gauges in the interior, the same as Pedro, Jose, and all his friends.
A great clip, when all is said and done, it is best to keep a sense of humor.

Did you get to go to church/vacation Bible school/church camp? If you did and it was Christian - you will remember a song that goes like this:Originally Posted by Jim Rose

When times are bad or sad and people have let you down, and those that you thought were good, turn out to be rotton - never be dismayed if you have Jesus in your heart.
And you just know, and it gives you courage to face tomorrow, and peace to sleep soundly tonight.
I saw this; our friend Pastor Ted is featured!
Ok.. that was pretty funny!Originally Posted by mrblanche

If I sing a chant telling myself that I am handsome and rich, will that come true, too?

It all boils down to brainwashing till you believe it all is true. I never needed that to face up to my problems and get a good nights sleep. Obviously, you needed the "coolaid" to keep you going.
Some of the comments in this forum are so ridicules -- each of us make choices. I made a choice to believe that there is something greater than this life - this is called FAITH.
No, Gail - this is called "mental shut down" or "I will believe anything, regardless of its content, provided it is religious and fed to me by the appropriate 'holy' books or churchofficials."
It might - you know what they say about positive thinking!Originally Posted by Eric

It really is BLIND FAITH--- with not much thought other than someone elses.
