Super Sherpa!

Here's a picture of my Kawasaki KL250 - the "Super Sherpa."

Kaw no longer sells this bike; just the largerKL650 (which is too heavy for anything more than light trail riding) and the new, more aggressive KL250S (which I haven't seen in person yet).

The Sherpa's not the fiercest off-roader (and it has just enough power to be viable on the highway for short trips - but just barely), but I really like the simple, air-cooled layout a nd the overall "package."

It is a lot like the Honda XL250 I had years ago; wish they still made bikes like this!

Very similar also to the Honda XR250 that I had on the farm... basic but good. No fancy electrics so if the engine wasn't going the lights werent going. I had a sidecart on mine for the dogs, and the odd sheep I would have to move around.

Prior to that I had an XL250 but it was more of a road type bike with battery electrics and a tachometer.

These are great bikes; some of the most "fun for the dollar" there is, I'd say.

I especially enjoy being able to head off the paved road if I see something that looks like it might be interesting - and being able to go places few 4x4 cars could dare try!
