    Places to look for classic cars

    Below are some good places to look for classic cars - not just to buy, necessarily - but also to get a feel for current price trends, too:

    * Hemmings Motor News - see www.hemmings.com
    * Old Car Trader - see www.oldcartrader.com

    Club magazines (for example, the Pontiac-Oakland Club International). Most popular (and even unpopular) brands have both web sites and slassified ads sections devoted to them; both are good places to look around.

    And don't forget your local paper's classified ads section - and word of mouth. Also, always keep your eyes open when driving around; those stories about finding a prize in some old guy's barn are sometimes very real!

    When I retire, I'm going to buy a roll-back tow truck and travel the backroads of Arkansas, finding old cars.

    Of course...I have a '72 MGB and a '63 Impala sitting up there, slowly returning to nature, myself!

    If you want to know where to find two MGBs parked side by side in front of a double-wide up in the hills outside of Roanoke, just ask!

    I'm convinced that MGB's are pretty good in the abstract, but terrible on the concrete!

    Sorry, couldn't resist.

    I got this one as trade for a bad debt I paid off for one of Dottie's cousins.

    I can relate... and for the same reasons have yet to take the plunge and buy a Brit bike, pretty as some of them are!

    Nothing prettier than that Norton Commando 850 I posted earlier.

    Unless you want to go to the Vincent Black Lightning. Have you seen one? Yes, of course you have--it's the bike the fellow in the bathing suit was riding, lying on top of it!

    So write a song about it!
