A significant portion of those cars could be sold in the U.S. for sums that would be above what most of those people make in 5 years. Maybe when Fidel passes, these people will reap a windfall?

But the American blockade is NOT why no cars have been imported there in the last 20 years. These people don't even make enough money to buy the communist-made drek available in eastern Europe and China.

Our trade blockade is most riduculous-- We do business with VietNam and China-- both of whom have caused us way more grief than Cuba---

Perhaps not, but they outnumber the Cubans by a bunch!

Could be, a lot of the 'Vietnamese' in the US are ethnic Chinese.

Could be. We had quite a contingent of Vietnamese in our group on one of our cruises. Interesting people, and some of the prettiest dresses I have ever seen anywhere on a formal night.

But they didn't take well to being held on the ship when they were about to miss their flight. The leader led the rest of them off, saying, "I didn't escape the Communists in Vietnam to be held prisoner on a cruise ship!"

He was head of IT at the world trade center at that time. Luckily, he had moved on before 9/11.

The VN are spread out a little more, but there's no real reason to have to regulate trade because of a small % of our population!
