    Re: Aussie advert banned.

Sexual Content, unsafe driving, offensive language, racism, cruelty to animals, and wasting water are amotng the complaints about car ads over the past year

All were dismissed apart from the Hyundai ad.

    Ford 9
    Toyota / Nissan 5
    Honda / Holden 4

Why don't mum's and grandfolks use the "off" button on the tv?

Looks like our countries are becomming Nanny States.

I see nothing wrong with the commercial. It's a lot better than ads for Herpe's drugs, or the constant Cialis/Viagra ads where the announcer states: "If you have an erection that lasts over 4 hours..." Not that I'm a prude, but they play these ad's in prime time. I guess they see nothing wrong with your 8 yr old asking what's an erection.

The ad falls into the 'too cute' or 'cloying' category and should be banned for one of those reasons.. The people who think it will encourage infant driving must have spent too much time in the sun.

Their DMV nannies make ours look like unconscious wimps. We have members building T's down there, and you would not believe the crap they have to put up with, with regular visits to their house to approve each step of construction.

See? You didn't have to travel to NZ to get soaked in it....

Of course, with a 5ft-wide plasma TV you would have thought it more convincing.

The intolerable noise in my car at 100-110km/hr is after

    http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=1

likely a matter of wheel bearings combined with tyres.
It was sunny today on the Plains. There were men on the land, smoothing the roads, and a few women waking doggedly with elbows up.....

Again, I wish you luck in the diagnosis - some of those things are devilish to find. I'm sure it's not your case but my 91 Legend at somewhere around 100k miles developed a transitory vibration when under acceleration at maybe 25 mph. I paid no attention to it until at oil change time it was noticed that the rear transmission mount was missing.

Upon replacement of the mount, the vibration was worse than ever and eventually I sold the car but not for that reason. It was sold to an acquaintance who was in the auto repair and used car business. He used it as his own transportation and off and on tried to find the cause, finally learning that the torque converter had lost a balance weight.

But back to your woes, I assume the, could you not get one of your many wimmen to ride in the engine compartment with a stethoscope and check around for a source; if that doesn't work, strap one under the car.

Does this happen at the same road speed no matter what gear the car is in?

Oh that such could be so!

I will have to think about the 3rd gear 4L60E / top gear thing, it's about 2.6:1 in o/d top, and when accelerating in 3rd [3.08:1] at , say, 80km/hr., it pulls sweetly past the campervan, caravan, truck, and I'm thinking about staying alive, and the tourist train overtaking us all on the adjacent 5,000,000 ton/year single track.

Not that you nearing midnight will offer sense...

It's bit like keeping a schedule with 500 people behind, and another 400 in a 'Limited' sleeping... and the 'Ka' 4-8-4 starts to run a bit rough... all in the frozen air rushing... it's a problem for some bastard....
