Well, it sure didn't come here! We had about 8in+ of snow, sleet and ice yesterday and it was very difficult to clean up. Shovel, ice chipper, snow blower, and chemicals were all needed.

With all of this global warming, I need a new and far more powerful snow blower.

We've had a bit of a cool spell--60's yesterday, about 70 today. The Bradford pear trees have blossomed and lost their flowers, the daffodils are mostly done, and the bluebonnets and Indian paintbrush are just coming out.

We had an appx. 40 degree temp. drop over 48 hours (again) from mid-70s to mid-low 30s. It's high 20s now, with temps. in the teens expected tonight.

Probably not, although the water temp doesn't change anywhere near as fast as the air. This just thins out the weaklings.

Isn't it Spring in Dallas yet? Haven't a lot of the trees started leafing? The live Oaks all change leaves at this time of year---

Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrush in a good year are almost worth a trip to Texas.

The cost would be almost as much as moving away from that damned snow! However, If I were you, I'd get my order in for the big blower now so it will be ready and all broken in for your next winter in NY.

You have brought up a good point........should we be changing the time frame for all the seasons.... We only seem to have had summer for the past two months..... It must be all the global warming

I guess with the clocks going back ...it's darker earlier and so the dreary season begins ....We don't have such stuff in QLD....crazy really because it puts us out of synch with the rest of the east coast..... but we are "The Smart State"...well that's what our premier will have us believe

Our TV evening news showed cars sliding on a NY freeway before they closed it.... must have been a slow news day.

Then we had a volcanic lahar on Mt. Ruapehu... no damage or loss of life, but quite impressive with 1.3 million cubic metres of rock and mud falling down a valley and across the land.

I was out today looking for a 'left over' bargain but no luck. I will get something when they are again in the stores. And it will be BIG.

You're as smart as us here, then - Arizona doesn't allow that DST malarky either.

Since when were you allowed to use a word like "malarky"? I thought AZ was English-speaking.
