    Early '80s Yamaha two-stroke singles... ?

Anyone "hip" to early '80s Yamaha two-stroke singles? I am trying to ID a bike from circa 1983... it's a small cruiser-type with buckhorn bars (not a sport bike) andhas a single-cylinder two-stroke engine.... I'm totally stumped.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Don,

It's not either of those; they're sport bikes and htis puppy's a "standard" or "cruiser" type. It belongs to my neighbor and he doesn't know what it is, either. Maybe it's a bike someone built from parts of various bikes.. but it sure looks like it was made that way to me... I am going to try to snap a pic and post it...

What size would you guess the engine to be? I cannot think of any two stoke Yamaha cruiser bikes. Perhaps they were never sold in Kalifornia. 1983 seems rather late for a two stoke cruiser to be in CA.

I'm guesssing it's a 125 and related to the bikes you posted... certainly no bigger than 200 ccs. It's an odd little bike... gonna try to stop by the neighbor's tomorrow to snap that pic...

One of my auxiliary sons (my kids brought home stray kids like other kids brought home stray pets) had a bike like that. I think it displaced around 80cc, and was fairly tall as small displacement street bikes go.
