Why is the Triumph Rocket III such a good bike?

My skeptical answer is that they took a 25-year vacation to design it properly.

    But maybe not:

What I want to know is why Triumph is so hung up on triples.

I don't know about them, but I rather like the sound of a four- stroke triple.

LIke most Triumphs, it looks great.

I have no idea how it runs, though...

I did consider the Speed Triple before I bought my Rex...

It seems to be something they are good at, & avoids competing head-on with the Japanese. They also make a lot of pretty good twins!

What's the crankshaft arrangement on the bike? I once had a Yamaha vertical twin with a 180^ crank which had a very interesting sound.
