US Blamed Traffic Chaos NZ Freezes

Freezing weather in Christchurch NZ has brought confusion to NZ roads as traffic flees the city.

    Bush says, "I am unapologetic."

Doughty photographer Hamish McGoogenheimer snapped these pics of logjam traffic on roads leading out of frozen beleagured city, where temperatures have dropped as low as -5C. Supplies of pototoes are all which have stood against total anarchy. The railway north is still open.

You must have reversed the negatives when you made the prints, everything seems backwards.

In an unrelated matter, Hamish was subsequently arrested in his automobile at the west end of the New Brighton Pier on charges of being drunk and disorderly. When asked by reporters why he had driven onto the pedestrian only pier, Hamish mumbled something about wanting to join the enlightened civilization of the west and not being able to afford a boat ticket.

A brave attempt to fire on the tide of foreigners who seek to live here. Mostly Americans with phobias. He has been redirected to the International Airport and is currently disguised as a Maori Concert Party.

Further developments to the breaking story of the individual known to police and family as, 'Hamish the Madman:'

H the Mad was refused boarding on every aircraft (including Australian) departing the International Airport for fear that excessive drool would damage the upholstery on the airplanes. He is now in a New Brighton jail awaiting arraignment on charges of refusing to pay a Star Taxi driver the fare from the airport. It also appears that he has smuggled a bit of charcoal and is making crude drawing of steam trains on the wall whilst shouting 'choo-choo' and toot-toot.' Other inmates are promising death if the rant does not quit.

It must feel WEIRD to change gear with your right hand.

Mid you, British steam railways never resolved whether the driver should be on the left or right of an engine... Great Western, Midland and some Scottish on the right, all others on the left.

I had better start the spuds. Cold night ahead. And Coro...

Lies! All lies I tell you!

I spoke to HRH the M just this afternoon and he was confident that his patent-pending American-Repeller would save the country from undue cultural contamination and unwanted money-hungry profit-worshipping foreigners, rendering GodZone free for sheep-herders and other worthy citizens.

Aren't you supposed to be in bed, laddie?  The Debbil might gitcha...

This is all part of the Great Plan.

Also, we don't use the term 'arraignment' around here. The Court takes depositions. None of which relevant because McG is exempt under the 'undisclosed location' provisions of the Royal Warrant. The disguise of paralysis has so far saved him vexatious interference from the illegal CIA., but we must be ever-vigilant, lest the interests of The Queen be compromised.

Funny, I was wondering the other day what it was like changing with the left.

What's the layout of the controls? Clutch on the left, brake, gas on the right. Shift lever on the left. Turn-signal lever on the left as well?

No civilized person talks Kiwi but I'll bet you're wrong, the word comes from the mother country which apparently stole it from the French.

An arraignment is no more than a court telling the guilty b*****d why he's there and what is going to happen to him. A formality in both cases since he already knows what he did and the police are no doubt giving him daily thrashings to toughen him up for things to come.

Yes except the turn signal stalk is arraigned on the right. Unless the car is a Fiat, when it might be on the left... well, M's Fiat 128 had turn-indicator stalk on the left. Washer-wiper stalk opposite in each case. M used to turn the wipers on to indicate a turn.

When you stop advertising your rather excellent federal legal system, which I daresay is a bit like designing a system which will herd cats, we are left with a system of law based on homogenous society in turn based on an archaic principle free choice.

A test for any in power. Putin might have his way, GWB has to use personal charm and family connections, no less potent, in their 'relaxed discussions'. What are the people who are close to these public faces think and do? Which of the media will portray this well?

Would that be the "camera on every street & up every arse" parts? Or the good parts?

That's essentially what we have done. We need to go back to the real common law where a judge might punish contempt with a public hanging or in lesser cases the loss of a limb or so.

There may be a place for town stocks, at least. Except to many of the public are armed with guns. Investment fraudsters and political charlatans could nevertheless be fairly put in the stocks. And all capitalists, usurers, and others who fail my test-of-worthiness.

Well, if I were with you on the bench, we'd have the entire population of NZ in the stocks. We could let them serve their sentences on alternate days so neither of us would want for essential services. We could do a bit of Star Chamber work, too, during the idle hours when the pubs are closed.

Whom must I bribe to be appointed to the bench? Does he have a daughter?

Probably a politician, who else sells judgeships? And he'll probably have a daughter, everybody knows that politicians breed like rabbits. Now, if you want the product of holy wedlock, that might be a bit harder to find.
