Tomorrow I connect a broadband thing to this machine. There will be complications. Two years old WinXP, zero problems, AVG anti-virus Windows firewall etc.
I had a bad experience with a PC in 2000,.. in the end I did what you did to that iPod... it was corrupted somewhere deep in its innards by the first repair guy, and never recovered. Pity you can't get a refund.
