Industry Partners Sign on to Plan the Largest AFV Conference in North America

Las Vegas, NV ? September 11, 2007: Major alternative fuel industry leaders have already signed on as lead sponsors for the 14th annual Alternative Fuels & Vehicles Conference + Expo 2008 (AF&V 2008) to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, from May 11-14. Leading the charge to present the only event held in North America that attracts 2000 key experts and end users to accelerate the commercial adoption of alternative fuels, vehicles, and advanced transportation technologies are American Honda, Chrysler, Clean Energy and General Motors. The Conference will be held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel.

?Alternative Fuel Vehicle Institute (AFVi) hosts this Learning Marketplace event on behalf of industry partners who recognize both the educational and sales value of this successful conference,? said Annalloyd Thomason, Executive Director of AFVi. ?Their contributions go beyond dollars in the time and company resources they invest to make this the world?s leading conference on alternative fuels, vehicles and advanced technologies.?

American Honda is sponsoring the kick-off luncheon on Monday, May 12, featuring a to-be-announced recognized speaker. Last year the Honda luncheon featured actor Larry Hagman and policy expert and author Terry Tamminen. Chrysler once again sponsors a dinner for United States Department of Energy Clean Cities coordinators. Clean Energy, provider of natural gas fuel and infrastructure, is sponsoring a portion of the cost for each fleet person who registers, as well as hosting an elegant dinner for fleet participants. General Motors will welcome attendees in high style at an opening reception at the Rio Hotel pool, which has been described as ??a work of art, looking like a tropical lagoon in the middle of Las Vegas.?

AF&V 2008 is already enjoying brisk exhibit sales with approximately 25% of the space reserved. More than forty sponsors are expected to join AFVi this year. My only question for Chevy: When will the Volt hit the streets?

Follow up comment: Forget about the fuel-cell for the Volt -- you'll never ship in time if you try to do too many things at once. Make the Volt the plug-in hybrid. Create a new car (call it the Helios or something) for your hydrogen fuel-cell.
