The DOT requires car makers to rate their vehicles in terms of an average 150 pound (68kg) person. With the average US man now weighing 190 pounds and woman at 163 pounds, this means that when a car is loaded with it's maximum passenger limit, there's a good chance it's over it's rated carrying capacity.
