    Eric,

They are selling it for $29,990 - it is an original car with 46,980 miles. The only slight issues I see with the car is the aftermarket stereo where someone made holes in the front door panels and the area behind the rear seat to install speakers, it is missing the plastic intake piece which brings air into the airfilter cover, and the original floor mats are long gone (these are very minor issues), other than that the car is a very nice example and worth the money they are asking.

Here's more info on the car:

    Yep - thanks!

I Googled Fleming and checked it out; he has several other nice cars too - and his prices actually aren't ridiculous (which is surprising, given it's in NoVa).

He has a very nice restored VW Thing for $14k - which I'd love to have!

    Eric,

Wow that's the best conditioned VW things I have seen in years. Nice price on it too. Those were neat cars.

If I weren't determined to get my TA's cosmetics restored, I'd be very seriously tempted to buy that Thing. If I came across a nice "driver" in the $5k range, I'd probably go ahead and do it. We'll need another vehicle in three years or so, when our Nissan truck gets to be too crickety for more than short-haul stuff around the property. And I can't see myself buying anything with a godamn computer and "OBD."

I dig those Things... I'd like to have an orange or yellow one. Even better, a military-spec. one painted in correct Afrika Korps camo!

    Ach so!
