    Convertibles usually weigh more than the equivalent sedans or coupes -- there is additional structural reinforcement needed to deal with the missing roof (to reduce cowl shake and chassis flex). Plus the electro-hydraulic top mechanism weighs quite a bit.

    On convertibles that don't have the extra reinforcement, you run into problems like the doors not being able to close when you park partway on an incline.
