If you don't have a tube of dielectric grease, get one. This stuff really can save some headaches. It seals the boots on your spark plug wires and keeps them from welding themselves to the plug insulator. It seals out moisture from electrical connections, protects battery terminals from the fluffy white corrosion and it even stays where you put it when you need to lubricate a hard to get to pivot or hinge. It does seem to get everywhere though and a little goes a long way. For about $3 and change, you can't beat it as a part of your tool kit.

I would also add two other essentials:

* Thread locker (blue or red) on critical fasteners; you'll be sorry if you forget!
* Anti-seize compound - always use this when installing spark plugs... eeeeeespecially if the heads are alloy. Few things suck more than ruined threads on an alloy head (such as a motorcycle). Trust me on this. Been there (long ago) and done that (never again!)
