    I don't see Agatha Christie's

    "Murder She Said" named, "4.50 From Paddington" in the UK... <G>

    Nor an obscure 1980-ish Japanese film, "Do Des Ka Den"...

    Nor the Texas, "The Last Picture Show"....

    A couple of my favorites are;

    The Blues Brothers (the original one)

    Savannah Smiles (a low budget job that's really quite good)

    and anything by the Marx Brothers.

    (Okay, I'm weird.)

    Does opinion count if like me you grew mostly before TV and certainly before computers?

    The idea of communicating mostly by video and phone-cam surely means anything else is redundant? A few older people with shelves of books? Well, they will die-off and the books can heat the house in winter...

    We were unaware of the silicom chip, Frodo...

    Innocent, I tell you! It's certainly a grand plot. At my age in my circumstances it's all something of a show. How lucky are we who can play, say, a Bach violin concerto with Perlman one of the players and lapse into something which combines all the pain and leaves it... like film of musicians who were made to play such music in death camps.

    20% of UK people aged 17-25yrs think Winston Churchill was a mythical person, not real, not sure how that question was asked.. but it doesn't suggest that many UK kids get history as a part of education, let alone US voters...

    72% of Americans believe in the story of Adam and Eve and the Garden of Eden as the literal truth.

    90% of all statistics were just made up on the spot.

    And you have the vote? Many fought and died so ordinary people couild have the vote.

    Eric dislikes the Chinese system of political autonomy, yet I find the US proclivity for religious thinking and democracy to be equally scary.

    It all turned to custard when working people got the vote...
