Yesterday in Westchester Cty, NY, regular was at $3.90 and the others higher in ~ten cent increments.
Here in SW Virginia we are almost at $3.70 in a couple of places; $3.50 or so in town.... seems to have increased by about 10 cents in the course of a week...
How about you guys?

Easy bet.
Here in NY the sales tax is added on to the price after everything else, the state has a gold mine. During the last price rise there was some talk of sales tax relief at, I think, the $3 point.
I'll let you know when we hit four bucks.
You guys pay only half what the civilised world pays.
Wake up.
Depends upon what one calls 'civilized.'Originally Posted by robmcg
If by that you mean small countries with correspondingly short roads then we all pay about the same to go somewhere, we just have to drive further to get there.
Local gas
ARM 9/10
LEG 9/10
Keep in mind the former disparity (we're catching up) is due to the high taxes you pay. Now imagine if the baseline cost (pre-tax) you paid had doubled in about three years. How would you feel about that?Originally Posted by robmcg
If this continues, the ripple effects (food prices, crushed real esate market, etc.) are going to be unprecedented. The Depression of the 1930s was due to problemsrelated to the finance system and greasy shyster speculators; the country still had enormous wealth and natural resources. Today, we are a debtor nation with far fewer natural resources at our disposal.Originally Posted by Henry
It is frightening.
Does this mean that I'll not be able to afford the gas for the Model-T to get me to California?
I passed $3.609 on the sign this morning.
Good thing I put those 5 gallons in on Sunday.

I got it inside two hours once.
I never queue to save a dollar.
Then I drive around with a smug smile knowing I paid about US$1.15/ltr while people have to pay $1.17 nyah nyah.
The option of not driving then appeals to the Scotsman in me... and of course I use a car primarily for fun, so it's just a game. I might go and wash the V8 sedan today... it's 23C and was 25C yesterday and it's nearly winter. Maybe the calendar needs to be re-set. Where is the Pope when we need him?
Lowest around here was around $3.45-$3.47 yesterday.
Then the gas stations aren't trying hard enough.
How are ya, Duck? Long time ...
We are edging ever closer to $3.70 as of April 30 here in SW Virginia...Originally Posted by ducky1776
Local papers are reporting $4 regular in my area, I've not seen it yet. Then again I haven't been out yet.
93 Octane gas here is only a few pennies below $4.00.
