Funny thing is that there were 2 Two Lane Blacktop Orbital Orange 1970 Judge movie cars one was a Ram Air III 400 the other a Ram Air IV 400. I do love this movie, the Warren Oates line - "Just Color Me Gone" is classic.

What's the difference, for those of us who are not up on our Poncho minutae?

The RA III had what are know as D-port heads; the RA IV had a "round port" head design that was completely new and based on the division's race-intended tunnelport 303 Trans-Am (the race car) engine. It had much better airflow and was teamed with a more aggressive cam and so on.

RA III cars are very desirable - but the much more rare RAIV equipped versions even more so. There was also a RA V version of the 400 but it was never factory installed; you bought it OTC as a crate engine.... .
